This recording is a delightful example of the piano accompanied performances of 1904 and 1905. Caruso's presence can almost be felt, the voices soars clearly above the piano and is not swamped in the acoustic mush of the orchestra accompaniments of the following year. These are truly the Caruso recordings to treasure.
