Je viens célébrer la victoire

The first time I've heard this recording. It's always amazing to me to listen to Caruso and his colleagues: their is a vocal quality and clarity of diction that you just don't get in modern opera singers. And though Caruso's voice was truly the greatest, nevertheless, Homer and Journet's voices were so astoundingly similar to his that their ability to blend in this trio was delightful. Today's voices do not blend, they are like prickly thorns, each trying to "stick out" to the listener.
